Charted RNPrivacy Policy
- You don't create an account. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your study plan, answers, test date and ATT date stay on your phone.
- We receive anonymous app usage data, error reports you choose to send, and your subscription status.
- Apple handles payments. We never see your card details.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Who we are
Charted RN ("we", "us") is an NCLEX study app based in Georgia, USA. This policy covers the Charted RN iOS app and chartedrn.com. Contact: hello@chartedrn.com.
What we collect and why
1. Study data, kept on your device
During setup and while you study, the app stores your exam type, first attempt or retake, where you trained, your stage in the licensing process, your test date, your ATT expiry date, daily study time, weak areas, reminder time and your answers to practice questions. This stays in the app's storage on your device. It isn't sent to us, and deleting the app deletes it.
2. An anonymous ID
When you first open the app, Firebase Authentication (by Google) creates a random anonymous ID. It isn't linked to your name, email or Apple ID. We use it to protect our database from misuse and to tie an error report to a single install.
3. Error reports you send
If you tap "Report" on a question, we receive the question's ID, the note you write, your anonymous ID and the time. We use reports to fix mistakes in questions. Please don't put personal information in the note.
4. App usage analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used, for example which screens are opened, how long sessions last and where people stop during setup. This includes an app-instance ID, app version, device model, iOS version, language and approximate country (worked out from your IP address). We use it only to improve the app. We don't use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA).
5. Subscriptions
Purchases go through Apple, and we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, the product you bought, its price and currency, your App Store country, purchase and renewal dates, and basic device information (model and iOS version).
6. Reminders
Study reminders are scheduled on your device. No reminder data is sent to us.
Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers that run the app, and only for the purposes above:

We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Error reports: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Analytics: under Google Analytics retention settings for this app, at most 14 months.
- Subscription records: as long as you subscribe, plus any period required for tax and accounting.
- Study data on your device: until you delete the app.
Your choices and rights
- Delete the app to remove all study data from your device.
- Turn off reminders in the app or in iOS Settings.
- Cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California law), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to how it's used. Email hello@chartedrn.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We don't collect your name or email, so we may ask for details such as the date and question of an error report to find your data.
Where data is processed
Our providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, they use safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
Charted RN is for people preparing for a nursing licensing exam. It isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted. Our database only accepts new error reports from the app and can't be read from it. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so there is little to expose.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. For significant changes, we'll also tell you in the app.
